WORLD RECORD OF CIGARETTE BUTT CLEAN UP
On Saturday May 29, 2021, with more than 1200 citizens and in 3 hours 0 Mégot set the world record for cigarette butts. Picking up more than 855,000 cigarette butts in 3 hours with the help of the Surfrider association and 10 other associations.
A movement
We are not celebrating this sad record, but the commitment of citizens. There were more than 1,200 of us: children, students, adults...to get together to pick up cigarette butts in Paris.
Raising Awareness
A village at the Pont d'Iena to highlight important messages on the pollution of cigarette butts.
Recycled cigarette butts
The cigarette butts collected will be recycled.
